Equinox runs clubs across several states. I went through their clubs, amenities, and prices so you know what you're getting.
Equinox clubs cover the basics: cardio, free weights, and machines. Most of their clubs also have:
You'll find these at some clubs:
Equinox doesn't offer racquetball, tennis, or tanning.
The Errico family opened the first Equinox on Manhattan's Upper West Side in 1991 (PR Newswire, Crain's New York Business). Equinox is based in New York City, and Harvey Spevak is executive chairman (CNBC).
None of Equinox's clubs are open 24/7. Hours vary by club, so check yours before you go.

Equinox gets the basics right and adds a few extras.
Group fitness classes run at nearly every club, so you don't have to plan every workout yourself.
Personal training is available at nearly every club if you want a coach.
The basics are covered, with cardio, free weights, and machines at nearly every club.
Equinox does plenty right. A few gaps are worth knowing before you sign.
Pools are rare. Only about a quarter of the clubs have one, so check before you join if you swim.
Childcare is only at about a quarter of the clubs. If you need it, confirm your club has it before you join.
No club is open 24 hours, so late-night and very early lifters are out of luck on some days.
Equinox prices by access level. In October 2026 I found:
Most clubs were running a $0 initiation promo.
Cardio, strength machines and free weights!
Warm up in the hot heat before your workout.
Yep, you can workout anytime of day here!
The perfect spot for bodyweight and functional training workouts.
Unwind in the super heated water in their hot tubs.
Relax and soothe in the super heated steam.
Ace your muscle recovery or simply enjoy the massage.
Experience a healthy golden glow anytime of the year.
Improve blood circulation and relieve pain with deep penetrating light.
No service? No problem. Free Wi-Fi for music or streaming.
Equinox fits members who like group classes.
How much is an Equinox membership?
Is Equinox open 24 hours?
Does Equinox have a pool?
Does Equinox have childcare?
Does Equinox have a sauna?
Does Equinox have a cold plunge?
Yes, if you want a steam room and boxing classes at most clubs and can budget for higher dues. All Access Fitness is $350 a month.
It fits you best if you like group classes. If you swim, count on childcare, or train late at night, Equinox is a weaker pick, because only about a quarter of the clubs have a pool, only about a quarter of the clubs offer childcare, and no club is open 24 hours. Google reviews average 3.7 stars across the chain, so read your club's reviews and take a tour first.
My take: Equinox is worth a tour if the dues fit your budget and you want a steam room and boxing classes.
