Is VillaSport a good gym?

VillaSport runs two kinds of clubs under one name: Athletic Clubs with indoor and outdoor pools and a recovery menu, and Villa Sport Fitness gyms, mostly in Idaho's Treasure Valley. I dug into their clubs so you know which one you're actually joining.

Here's what we love about VillaSport

I like how much VillaSport packs into one membership at its Athletic Clubs. You get the gym floor, pools, a recovery menu, and programs for kids.

  • Recovery is built in. About half the clubs offer cryotherapy, red light therapy, and infrared sauna, and more than a third have a cold plunge.

  • It works for families. Most clubs have a Kids Club, and the Athletic Clubs add camps and swim lessons for kids.

  • Water is a big deal here. More than half the clubs have a pool and hot tub, and nearly every club has a sauna.

Here are the things we wish VillaSport would improve

VillaSport does a lot well. A few things still bug me.

  • The two formats feel like different chains. An Idaho Fitness club runs $28.95 to $46.95 a month, while an Athletic Club starts at $109.

  • Prices aren't posted for every club. I don't have rates for Pleasanton, MAC, Redwood City, or Campbell, so call those clubs.

  • No club is open 24 hours, and none have racquetball, tennis, or squash courts.

How much does it cost to join VillaSport?

VillaSport sits at the premium end at its Athletic Clubs and goes mid-price at its Idaho Fitness clubs. Single-adult monthly dues I collected in October 2026:

  • Standard ($109 to $175/month) - Home club only. Colorado Springs is lowest at $109, San Jose highest at $175.
  • Platinum ($125 to $195/month) - Adds 2 guest passes a month, 1 recovery session a month, Platinum Small Group Training, the Trainerize app, $10 guest passes at other Athletic Clubs, and unlimited access to Villa Sport Fitness clubs.
  • Beaverton - Starts at $159 for Standard, $179 for Platinum, and $99 for Young Adult (ages 18 to 26).

The Idaho Fitness clubs use a much cheaper grid:

  • Premier One Club ($28.95/month) - One club.
  • Premier All Clubs ($36.95/month) - All Treasure Valley clubs.
  • VIP All Clubs ($46.95/month) - Adds 2 guests per visit, daily HydroMassage and CryoLounge at select clubs, VIP Small Group Training, 2 out-of-area guest passes a month, Trainerize, and monthly InBody testing.

I don't have prices for Pleasanton, MAC (Houston), Redwood City, or Campbell, so call those clubs. Athletic Clubs offer a discount if you pay by bank draft (EFT). Couple and family rates aren't posted.

  • VillaSport's posted rates don't list an annual fee. Ask your club before you sign.
  • VillaSport doesn't disclose its enrollment fee with its posted rates, so ask before you sign.

Final thoughts — Is worth it?

It depends on which VillaSport you join. The Athletic Clubs are some of the most complete clubs I've seen. You get indoor and outdoor pools, Pilates Reformer, float therapy, camps and swim lessons, and a recovery menu with cold plunge. If you'll use the pool, bring kids, and actually book recovery, $109 to $195 a month buys a lot.

The Idaho Fitness clubs are a different deal. At $28.95 to $46.95 a month they're good value, especially VIP, which adds HydroMassage and CryoLounge at select clubs. Before you join, check the specific club's amenity list, since amenities vary by club. Prices aren't posted for every club either, so call first if yours isn't listed. Google reviews average 3.7 across the chain. My take: VillaSport Athletic Clubs are worth it for families who want a club they'll use every day, and the Idaho Fitness clubs are worth it if you want a well-priced gym close to home.
