The Acquisition

Onelife Fitness has acquired two Phaze 3 Fitness clubs in Alabama, located at 145 Plaza Blvd. in Madison and 1319 Four Mile Post Road in Huntsville's Jones Valley neighborhood. The deal was announced September 2, 2026. Both locations will rebrand to the Onelife Fitness name after a brief conversion period for members and staff. Financial terms were not disclosed.

About Onelife Fitness

Founded in 2011, Onelife Fitness operates more than 70 active or planned locations across the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Alabama. The company employs more than 5,000 people nationwide. Its clubs combine traditional strength and cardio equipment with pools, functional training spaces, boutique-style classes, personal training, children's facilities and recovery amenities.

What Members Get

Both acquired clubs are fully operational large-format facilities. Amenities at each location include strength and cardio areas, functional turf training space, indoor saltwater pools, group fitness and cycling studios, hot yoga, children's clubs, HydroMassage, spa-style locker rooms and saunas. The Huntsville location at Four Mile Post Road also includes a dedicated CryoLounge, adding cold therapy to the recovery offering. The Madison club covers approximately 52,000 square feet, while the Huntsville location spans roughly 61,000 square feet.

Why Madison and Huntsville

CEO Ori Gorfine pointed to population growth in both Madison and Huntsville and their strong community bases as key factors in the decision to expand there. Huntsville has grown rapidly over the past decade, driven by aerospace, defense and technology sector employment. The two markets together give Onelife a platform across northern Alabama to complement its separate development program in the Birmingham area.

Membership and Pricing

Membership terms at the newly acquired clubs were not announced at the time of the acquisition. Current Phaze 3 Fitness members will transition to Onelife membership during the conversion period. Prospective members should contact the individual clubs or visit the Onelife Fitness website for current pricing and any opening offers.

Broader Alabama Expansion

The two acquisitions push Onelife to five Alabama locations across two major markets. The company already operates Onelife Fitness McCalla in the Birmingham area, and its Lee Branch club is scheduled to open in the near term. A Hoover location is expected to break ground in October 2026, extending Onelife's Birmingham-area footprint further. Acquired operating clubs and new ground-up development give Onelife multiple paths to building scale within the state.

What Leadership Said

"Alabama is one of the most important growth markets for Onelife Fitness, and we intend to deliver the best amenities and proven solutions for our communities," CEO Ori Gorfine said in the announcement. He added that the company intends to continue investing in both the club experience and the teams that operate the locations. Gorfine described the acquisition strategy as complementary to new development, noting that buying established clubs provides immediate access to operating facilities and existing memberships.

What It Means for Local Gym-Goers

For people in Madison and Huntsville already holding Phaze 3 memberships, the main near-term change is the brand transition. Onelife has indicated local employees will remain through the conversion, so day-to-day operations should stay largely consistent during the switchover. Once fully converted, members will have access to Onelife's broader network of 70-plus locations, which can be useful for anyone who travels frequently within the chain's Mid-Atlantic and Southeast footprint.
