Chuze Fitness will open its Fresno location on Friday, September 18, at 3684 W. Shaw Ave. The club takes over a former retail space, bringing full-service fitness to a building that leasing materials suggest may be subdivided for additional tenants. Presale memberships are already available ahead of opening day.

Chuze Fitness launched its first location in Carlsbad in 2008 and has grown into a recognizable name across California and the Southwest. The chain positions itself as a high-amenity, low-cost option, offering tiered memberships that give members access to features more commonly found at premium clubs. In California's Central Valley, Chuze already operates in Bakersfield and Stockton, and the Fresno opening extends that regional footprint.

The Fresno club is equipped with a wide range of amenities across fitness, recovery, and entertainment. Access to specific features will vary by membership tier.

A 2023 leasing brochure from Retail California advertised the 126,000-plus square-foot building as divisible into smaller tenant configurations, with separate development pads along Brawley Avenue. Chuze gym locations elsewhere in the chain range from roughly 16,000 to over 55,000 square feet, which suggests the Fresno club may share the building with future tenants, though the final layout has not been publicly confirmed.

Memberships at the Fresno location start at $9.99 per month, with a $59.99 annual fee. Presale memberships are available now through the Chuze website, giving early sign-ups the chance to lock in rates before the September 18 opening.

Chuze is not stopping at Fresno. The chain has a second Central Valley location in the works at Sierra Pavilion in Clovis, at 1155 Shaw Ave., with its website listing a fall 2027 target opening. The back-to-back expansion suggests the chain sees sustained demand in the region.
